Applied Ecology Ltd has been commissioned by Close Property Finance Limited to help inform and steer proposals for the redevelopment and management of a former fertiliser factory site and adjoining land near Ipswich. An Ecology and Nature Conservation Assessment of the Old Fisons Site, Paper Mill Lane, Bramford will form part of an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) that will be submitted alongside planning application to redevelop the site.
Having completed a Phase 1 Habitat survey and biodiversity audit, AEL is currently in the process of completing surveys for animal species that are protected by law, and species with high levels of biodiversity importance. The results of these surveys will inform the EIA and a management plan for adjoining floodplain grassland habitats and wet woodland habitats.
Survey work for terrestrial invertebrates, reptiles, breeding birds, water vole (Arvicola amphibius), otter (Lutra lutra) and bats are underway.
